No Longer Have Time

Hello all. Unfortunately I can no longer afford to keep this site as a beauty blog. I am currently 3 months pregnant and need to keep all my money to buy things ready for my child coming along at the end of June. I’ve enjoyed it, but will be turning it into just a regular blog in the next couple of weeks.

Beauty bloggers, feel free to delete me off Bloglovin’, Hello Cotton and Bloggers.com. Thanks for coming by and have a lovely Chirstmas and New Year!

Avon Goodies

My Avon purchases arrived last night...

Avon goodies

The Little Black Dress perfume is for my mum for Christmas. To be perfectly honest, I was supposed to be looking for gifts for different family members, but I just couldn't resist ordering for myself!

The Herve Leger Femme perfume smells amazing, as does Little Black Dress. I've yet to try out the Colortrend Foundation and Concealer, but I'm looking forward to it. More posts to come this week, hopefully!

Here's what I ordered:

I accidentally put two Pro-Brow Kits into my basket, but whatever, I'm sure I'll need the second one soon! ;-)

My July Glossybox

Gosh, I have so tried to create time to blog, but things kept creeping up that I had to take care of. First was my internet disconnecting every so often - all my bills are up to date, but my ISP has been disappointing lately. Secondly, I've been looking after my brothers cat since May and she gave birth to FOUR kittens almost 6 weeks ago; none of us knew she was pregnant until she gave birth on my couch on the 24th July. They will be 6 weeks old on Tuesday - such cute, mischievous little things! Anyway, I'm determined to get back on track - here are my thoughts on July's Glossybox:

Bex London - Londoner Urban Fragrance
Bex Londoner EC2 - Never heard of Bex prior to receiving this sample, to be frank I found this particular fragrance smelt a bit too masculine for me. I like my perfumes to be fruity and floral - just girly really. It is £81 for a 100ml bottle, which is ridiculous. You can buy other perfumes for more than half that price, which smell hundred times better than that. I won't be buying this in a hurry.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting - This lip frosting, Irish Cream Pavlova, smells absolutely delicious! I just feel like squirting it in my mouth, it's so good! It gives a lovely pink tint on my lips, but you can also use it on your cheeks as a creamy blusher. This is a full size tube (15ml), which originally costs £10.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse - I've only used this on my hair, 20 minutes before shampooing it. To be fair, my hair was slightly shinier than usual, but it didn't make a huge difference. I've yet to try it on my body/face.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist
Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist - This made my hair rather greasy, whereas it's supposed to "hydrate" it. However I did like the smell and it feels very refreshing on my skin.

Monu Eye Cool Gel
Monu Eye Cool Gel - I love products like these, but I never understand them; they don't seem to work for me... this didn't reduce my under-eye puffiness or my dark circles, like it said it does. I will keep using it though, it feels lovely and cool (I guess that's why it's called eye cool gel?!!).

Bonus Product
Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Gentle Hydrating Skincare
Elizabeth Arden Visible Gentle Hydrating Skincare - This was brilliant, I got about three days use out of these little samples; my skin was noticeably brighter and softer. If they were cheaper, I would definitely buy them, but for now I'll stick to my Simple Skincare regime.

I also received a green token, which got me this free gift (which I am yet to try):

Apologies For Inactivity

Hello all.

I haven't updated for a couple of months, this is mainly due to my internet playing up. I apologise and hope to get posting some pictures of recent purchases and also a few reviews.

Hope everyone's had a great "Summer", if you can call it that! :)

This Weeks Haul

Pay day was Friday, so on Thursday I decided to use any money left over to buy some products from MUA - I love this brand; the quality of the products always impresses me and it's extremely inexpensive.

MUA Products

L-R; 3 in 1 Contour Pen in Dark Brown, Extreme Curl Mascara in Black, Eyebrow Pencil in Brunette, Face Primer, Liquid Eyeliner in Shade 5 and Eye Primer - all of which came to only £12 (plus £2.95 P&P - bargain). Another thing I am impressed with is how quick these products were delivered - I ordered on Thursday morning and they arrived on Friday morning. Very efficient!

Yesterday and today I bought two Barry M nail paints - Magenta Glitter and Black Multi-Glitter, which I believe are fairly new 'releases':

I want to try and get back into a proper skin-care routine, like when I was a teenager, I would always 'cleanse, tone and moisturise' every single day - morning and night. Then as I got older, I developed a "can't be bothered" attitude. :-| I purchased a couple of Simple products - cleanser and toner (I already own a Simple moisturiser), which were on offer at Superdrug for £2 each. I also bought Olay facial scrub (on offer at £1.24 - half price!) and Superdrug's own facial cleansing wipes, for getting all my make-up off!

Superdrug buys

And last, but not least, my mum bought me two pairs of shoes from Primark:

My next buy will be some decent make-up brushes - can anyone help with that? (not too expensive though!)

My June Glossybox

June's Glossybox arrived this morning; I just came into my street, after finishing work, and the delivery lady was putting something through the letterbox, I asked her if it was for me and she said yeah, but she'd left it with someone over the road! Whew!

So this is what I've got this month:

June '12 Glossybox
Clean Start by Dermalogica Day/Night 3-step Kit: I tried this not long after it's arrival - instantly made my skin feel a lot softer and clear. The smell is OK, slightly citrus-y, not too strong.

June '12 Glossybox
Yves Rocher France Sexy Plump Ultra-Volume Mini Mascara: I tried this today also - great brush, seemed to get an even coverage, separated my lashes very well, only problem was it kept making my eyelashes go straight every time I curled them. Never had that problem with any other mascara. Apart from that, I loved it, wish it was full-size!

June '12 Glossybox
Glossybox Serie Exclusive Pro Beauty Brush: Oooh, so soft on my cheeks - loved this!

June '12 Glossybox
BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer: Not tried this yet - not sure if it will look right on my very pale skin!

June '12 Glossybox
Vichy Dermablend Ultra Corrective Foundation Cream Starter Kit: Tried this today, only on my dark circles - it's good, quite creamy, easy to apply with your finger. The full-size costs £19, which I think is good. I have a lot of redness and blemishes on my face, so will definitely consider buying the full-size stick.

Overall, I don't think it's the best box I've had (this will only be my third), but for £10 a month, I'm not going to complain. I'm happy to get anything to be honest.

Barry M Purchases

What with Friday being pay-day, I decided to put £20 back to treat myself to something. Initially I was going to buy a Fiorelli purse from TKMaxx (£15 down from £45), but then remembered that I wanted a few [more] nail polishes, so I headed on over to Superdrug. I noticed that they had the new Barry M Chameleon polishes in stock, so I got one of them, then I noticed a sign saying "Spend £6 on any Barry M products and get a free Retro nail paint" - well, I just couldn't resist:

New Barry M purchases

The Retro range is to celebrate 30 years of Barry M - I decided to get Retro Pink, I haven't tried it yet, but the colour looks gorgeous.

Chameleon Blue is just wow, one coat is all you need to produce an opaque coverage. Once dried, all you need is a clear nail polish to create your design on the top and it changes colour. I'm not very imaginative when it comes to designing, so I just did half and half:

Last, but not least, I decided to get the Lemon Ice Cream polish - I've been meaning to get a summery colour for awhile now. I've not tried this on my fingernails yet, however my partner took it upon himself to paint my toenails (I am not taking a picture though - it's a mess!)! :)

May 2012 Glossybox

Ah, having only got my dispatch email this morning, I was very surprised to see a delivery van pull up outside my house only a few hours later. I nearly missed it because I don't usually answer the door, unless I know who it is. The delivery woman was wearing casual clothes (white t-shirt and trousers!), whereas I thought someone from the Royal Mail (distinctive red uniform) would've delivered it.

Anyway, here it is:
May 2012 Glossybox
Eldora False Eyelashes, pink ‘Happy Birthday Glossybox’ balloon, Noble Isle Summer Rising Bath & Shower Gel, compact mirror, Lolita Lempicka Eau de Parfum & Si Lolita, Osmo Berber Oil HairTreatment and last but not least, Apivita Express Beauty Masks

I have already used two of these products tonight - Berber Oil and the Noble Isle bath & shower gel, both of which smell divine. I have never had the need to use false eyelashes, but am really looking forward to trying these bad boys!

My First Glossybox

Well, I caved in from all the pressures of my brain telling me: “Just buy it” although sometimes occasionally "It'll be a waste of money", but my positivity got the better of me and so I decided to jump on the beauty-box-bandwagon and purchased my very first Glossybox.

SDC15401
Caudalie Thirst Quenching Serum, Figs & Rouge Peppermint & Tea Tree Balm, Inika Certified Organic Lip Liner in Nude Delight, Philip B Styling Gel, Monu Rosewood Reviving Mist

And I have to say, I'm glad I did. I'm very impressed with the natural contents of this box (although I know they won't be like this every month).

I don't have a lot to say about the products within the box right now, as I haven't tried them yet, but I'll be sure to post a review on all of them sometime during the week.

Do you subscribe to Glossybox? If so, what do you think of this months organic box? Do the products live up to your expectations or were you disappointed? If you don't, why not subscribe for a month - if you're not satisfied, you can always cancel.
